c. Some informtion about getting from Hong Kong airport to Guangzhou suggested by Prof. Ming-chung Chu:

¡¡¡¡1. Direct train

¡¡¡¡- go from the airport to Hung Hom station: take the airport express train and change at Tsing Yi Station. The trip takes about 38 minutes. The MTR map and information is here: http://www.mtr.com.hk/jplanner/flash_eng/index.php?sid=47&eid=64&x=23&y=4

¡¡¡¡- then take the direct train from Hung Hom station to Guangzhou.

You can find out the schedule and fare of the train from Hung Hom station to Guangzhou here: http://www.it3.mtr.com.hk/b2c/frmIndex.asp?strLang=Eng

Basically there is a train evey hour, and the trip from HK to Guangzhou East is about 2 hours. The one way ticket is about HK$190, and you can buy the ticket on-line.

¡¡¡¡2. There is an airport bus from the airport to Guangzhu. You just have to walk to Terminal 2 where they have a coach station for buses going to mainland. However, I cannot find any English information from the website of the bus company: http://ctsbus.hkcts.com/routes/air/air-index.html

It could be a more convenient way than the direct train, but I don't know where they stop in Guangzhou.

¡¡¡¡d. Supplemental information about getting from Hong Kong airport to Guangzhou given by Prof. Jun Cao:

¡¡¡¡The following link is the English version of the bus from Hong Kong airport to Guangzhou. There are several stops in Guangzhou. I think the first stop, Tianhe (Jinnan University), might be the most convinient to SYSU.
